Discussion topics
Vendor demos followup/status (ExLibris, EBSCO, TIND)
Our email to vendors:
Do you have a staff-side "sandbox" that we could use for more "hands on" experience? That would be very helpful.
As a next step, would you be able to engage with the Library staff and some key campus community members through presentations and discussion? In each case we envisage a focused presentation, followed by an opportunity for Q&A. A possible division of topics and audience could be as follows:
Discovery, circulation, patron management, etc. Audience: Library staff (reference, circulation), Campus community members.
Acquisitions, cataloging, and ERM (i.e. standard back end services). Audience: Library staff.
Integrations, batch processes, special projects (e.g inventory), APIs. Audience: Library collection management and technical staff primarily.
ExLibris: suggest two-hour blocks on any Tues-Wed-Thurs starting the week of 9/21 at the earliest
EBSCO: are waiting for suggestions
TIND: Kara has written to Alex requesting more info on their offering
